General

Experienced snus lovers confidently declare that Swedish snus is the best in the world. Many brands are producing smokeless tobacco, but according to most, General is the best brand of snus. The history of the company is very long and goes back more than 150 years. At that time Johan A. Beauman founded it because he wanted to get something new. He became a real revolutionary because he developed a completely new flavor of tobacco. It mixed more than 20 different kinds of tobacco with the addition of bergamot oil. With this development, it appeared to be a completely new flavor, it was stronger and now everyone could feel the flavor of pepper and citrus.

Over the years, the company has created a huge number of different snus lines, including Loose, Portion, Long, Mini, White, Strong, Extra Strong, and Onyx. Despite the different formats, the basis of the snus has remained the same over the years. Thanks to its huge assortment and unusual taste, the General brand has always been a leader in the snus market.

General brand history

Approximately in 1850 the contractor and mason Boman founded the tobacco company Körner & Boman in Gothenburg. Körner was responsible for the capital and Boman for the vision. Johan Boman was known in Gothenburg for his attention to detail. He had the same attitude toward snuff. When he didn't find tobacco that met his standards, he decided to make it himself.  He traveled the world trying to find the best tobacco leaves and began experimenting with different combinations. He studied the manufacturing process even more carefully.

The development work was in progress for four years. Johan A Boman tested and combined different varieties. In 1866, he finally found a recipe he was satisfied with. Even today only a few people know Boman's basic recipe.

The further development of the company was obvious. In addition to the revolution at the expense of bagged snus, the General brand made history at the expense of other innovations. In 2003, for example, General White Portion was first introduced in white sachets, which did not spread as much as traditional portioned sachets. In 2005, General Onyx was introduced, a new version of General, but with black sachets. The traditional flavor hasn't gone anywhere, Boman's legacy isn't lost at all.

The most popular varieties of General

According to statistics, the General is the largest and most popular brand worldwide. You can find General brand snus not only in Sweden but all over Europe and America. Let's take a look at the most popular varieties of General Snus.

General Original Mini

General Mini Portion is not the 1800s, like its big brother General Portion. It is however still the same class, just in smaller portions. Mini snus can not be seen just as well under the lip and is more discreet. But with the same great taste! A full-bodied and spicy tobacco taste will also find hints of the citrus-like spice bergamot and tea, dried grass, and leather. The combination of spiciness and sourness makes snuff balanced.

General White

General White Portion is a white version of the classic General Portion. With its rich and spicy tobacco flavor, you will also find hints of citrus-like spice bergamot and tea, dried grass, and leather. The combination of spiciness and sourness makes snuff balanced. White-serving the snus is dry on the outside and flows minimal but damp inside so that the taste is prolonged.

General Extra Strong

General Extra Strong Portion has with its General family has become a real classic in the world of snuff. This is the extra strong version, 15 mg/serving. With its rich and spicy tobacco flavor, you will also find hints of citrus-like spice bergamot and tea, dried grass, and leather. The combination of spiciness and sourness makes snuff balanced.

General White Mini

Although General Mini White Portion does not date back to the 1800s as its big brother General Loose, keeping the same high standard. General Mini White is not visible as well under the lip, then the portion is smaller. As with other white portions, it will taste gradually and more slowly than in a standard serving.
